What trials and triumphs will Saturn bring to you, Cancer? ( Dec. 17, 2020

Saturn officially moved into water-bearer sign Aquarius on December 17, 2020. It will stay in Aquarius for the next two and a half years, specifically until March 7, 2023, encouraging people to build their own “foundation” (the foundation of their destiny that will last for about 30 years!).

By its very nature, Saturn is a planet that encourages growth, and by imposing trials and challenges onto people, it paves the way for said growth. Growth is the process of building a stronger foundation from the past, and it is only when we really have a previous foundation that we have achieved through hardship that we can set broader dreams and higher goals. In this sense, Saturn is also the planet that connects the past and the future.

In other words, what you struggled with in the past is connected in a straight line to the present and to the challenges of the future. This may include experiences that made you wonder, “Why do I have to suffer so much?”

Saturn teaches us how all of these experiences connect, and how we can use them to our advantage.

This is why we’ll be exploring the fate Saturn has given you in the following two chapters. What you have accomplished during the period of ② (which may be an accomplishment you are not even aware of) is the foundation for the present and future challenges of ①.

This means our story will be unpacked as follows:

(1) Challenges you will receive from Saturn for the period December 2020 to March 2023.

(2) What you have already accomplished under Saturn’s trials for the period of about three years from the end of 2017 to December 2020.

It is especially important to read (1) and (2) as a single story in your mind. Use (2) as a foundation and interpret it to read the challenges in (1). And if you are still enduring difficulties right now, it is very important to think of that suffering as still holding a connection to the future, even if you cannot yet see it.

(1) Challenges you will receive from Saturn for the period December 2020 to March 2023.

During the two and a half years from the end of 2020 to March 2023, Cancer will be on a journey to find the “meaning of life” — even if that sounds a little dramatized. In other words, you may be searching for something “only you can do”. The journey may not be a fun one. It is a journey in search of “something” that once you think you have grasped, it slips away from you. This period also potentially points to a relationship that is gradually getting deeper and deeper. Your relationship to your body, even, might undergo some changes. Of course, these are just possibilities, but as Saturn gives us the flow of fate, it gives us the image that you are sinking deeper and deeper into a knowing that is hidden within you.

It’s important to note that this deep dive will be a journey of rebirth for you. In order to start anew, you have to reach an end. Conversely, where there is a new beginning, there is always an end. For example, just as an insect molts from a pupa to become a butterfly, or a snake repeatedly sheds its skin to grow, we need to shed our old selves in order to grow spiritually. Saturn will give you various obstacles to overcome during the next two and a half years as you undergo a rebirth. It may be painful and trying, but it is most important to know that it is a necessary process.
