What trials and triumphs will Saturn bring to you, Libra? ( Dec. 17, 2020

Saturn officially moved into water-bearer sign Aquarius on December 17, 2020. It will stay in Aquarius for the next two and a half years, specifically until March 7, 2023, encouraging people to build their own “foundation” (the foundation of their destiny that will last for about 30 years!).

By its very nature, Saturn is a planet that encourages growth, and by imposing trials and challenges onto people, it paves the way for said growth. Growth is the process of building a stronger foundation from the past, and it is only when we really have a previous foundation that we have achieved through hardship that we can set broader dreams and higher goals. In this sense, Saturn is also the planet that connects the past and the future.

In other words, what you struggled with in the past is connected in a straight line to the present and to the challenges of the future. This may include experiences that made you wonder, “Why do I have to suffer so much?”

Saturn teaches us how all of these experiences connect, and how we can use them to our advantage.

This is why we’ll be exploring the fate Saturn has given you in the following two chapters. What you have accomplished during the period of ② (which may be an accomplishment you are not even aware of) is the foundation for the present and future challenges of ①.

This means our story will be unpacked as follows:

(1) Challenges you will receive from Saturn for the period December 2020 to March 2023.

(2) What you have already accomplished under Saturn’s trials for the period of about three years from the end of 2017 to December 2020.

It is especially important to read (1) and (2) as a single story in your mind. Use (2) as a foundation and interpret it to read the challenges in (1). And if you are still enduring difficulties right now, it is very important to think of that suffering as still holding a connection to the future, even if you cannot yet see it.

From the end of 2020 to March 2023, about two and a half years, Saturn will be helping you, Libra, to make your actions “more powerful.” We mean “action” here as “action that works in the world.” That may be a bit confusing, so let us try to explain it in more detail!

The world around us is full of possibilities — nature, society, and people all have completely different personalities, roles, and potentials. “Working with the world” is the act of extracting value from nature, things, information, and places, including other people, in how you approach them.

For example, craftspeople create beautiful works of art by working with natural materials. Entrepreneurs and business people create money by working with the market. A musician creates beautiful music by working with the myriad of sounds that exist in the world. Lovers foster the hearts of others to create comfort and affection.

This is what it means to work with the world to “create value.” Rather than indulge in passive pleasures, you might say that they are obtained by working on the world directly — like reaching out to society and people with your innovations and ideas to contribute to your community. In this process, people feel a sense of “fun,” or maybe in other words, even a sense of being alive. Continuing to take action to create these things of value is what Saturn is asking of you.
