At 2:09 a.m. EST on January 2, 2022, Mercury, the planet that governs communication, moves into Aquarius. This will be the first planetary movement of the year, occurring just after the dawn of the new year. However, after this, Mercury will be moving in a very strange way.

Mercury usually stays in one constellation for about two to three weeks. This means that Mercury is traveling through the 12 signs of the zodiac at a very fast pace, and because of this speed, it is responsible for spreading various pieces of information all at once. However, this time Mercury will be in one sign for about three times as long. This is because Mercury will be retrograde for a period of time.
